About the Goose Island

This is the largest county park campground in Wisconsin!

Located three miles south of La Crosse on the Mississippi River, over 400 sites – largest county campground in Wisconsin. Electrical hook-ups, camp store, boat and canoe rentals, two nature trails, three restroom/shower facilities. Goose Island Campground is located on Hwy. 35, 3 miles South of La Crosse. Located on the backwaters of the Mississippi, this large campground offers excellent fishing and beautiful sunsets.

The camping season begins in early April and ends in November. Reservations are accepted at Goose Island beginning January 2nd of each year. To place a reservation, please call the campground at 608-788-7018. The manager, Bill Loewenhagen, will assist you and answer any questions you may have.
