The river supports healthy numbers of brown trout and rainbow trout, with cutthroat present in upper reaches, offering excellent fishing opportunities from late spring through fall.
This map highlights the Conejos River’s most productive and well-known sections, including the upper river below Platoro Reservoir, the expansive meadows and riffle water near Mogote, and downstream stretches approaching the New Mexico border.
