About Us

Maps Built for Anglers. Designed for Retailers.

Map the Xperience is a Colorado-based outdoor brand built at the intersection of function, storytelling, and retail performance. We design and produce Handy Map Microfiber Cloth Bandanas, X Guard Neck Gaiters, pocket-sized fishing maps, and large-format outdoor recreation maps—products built to be used in the field and sold with purpose in-store.

This isn’t just about maps.

It’s about creating products that connect people to place—and help retailers build stronger, more memorable brands.

A Colorado Company Rooted in Rivers

Map the Xperience was founded by Daniel Bryant and Greg Tanaka—entrepreneurs, anglers, and lifelong students of rivers and wild places.

What began as a series of detailed fishing maps has grown into a nationally recognized outdoor product line, with distribution across fly shops, national parks, and specialty retailers.

Over the past decade, we’ve developed more than 46 map titles covering iconic rivers, national parks, and outdoor destinations across the United States.

But what sets us apart isn’t just what we make.

It’s how those products perform—both in the wild and on the retail floor.

Products Built to Be Used. Designed to Sell.

We focus on four core product categories, each designed with both the end user and the retailer in mind:

Handy Map Microfiber Cloth Bandanas
Our flagship product. A 22x22” ultra-soft microfiber cloth that cleans optics, protects from sun and wind, and features beautifully designed, location-based artwork. Lightweight, breathable, SPF-rated, and incredibly versatile—this is a product customers use every day.

X Guard Neck Gaiters
Built from the same premium microfiber material, the X Guard delivers performance and protection in a wearable format. Designed for anglers, hikers, and outdoor travelers who demand comfort, breathability, and function.

Pocket-Sized Fishing Maps
Compact, easy-to-carry maps designed for use on the water. These built our foundation—delivering clear, accurate information where it matters most.

Large-Format Outdoor & National Park Maps (36x24”)
Our premium offering. Designed for display, storytelling, and long-term brand impact. These maps combine cartographic precision with visual design and narrative—making them as valuable on a wall as they are in hand.

We Don’t Just Make Maps. We Build Products Around Place.

Every product we create is rooted in one idea:

Place matters.

Whether it’s a river, a trail system, or a national park—people want to understand where they are and feel connected to it.

That’s why our designs go beyond geography.

They incorporate:

  • Access points and routes
  • Real-world usability in the field
  • Local knowledge and insight
  • Regional identity and storytelling
  • Clean, intuitive design

The result is a product that doesn’t just sit on a shelf—it gets used, talked about, and remembered.

Built for Retailers First

Retail is changing.

Shops don’t need more clutter—they need products that:

  • Stand out
  • Tell a story
  • Deliver strong margins
  • Create repeat customers

Everything we build is designed with that in mind.

From high-velocity microfiber bandanas and gaiters to premium large-format maps, our products are built to perform in retail environments while reinforcing the identity of the shop carrying them.

We don’t believe in generic.

We believe in products that represent a place—and the people who know it best.

From Foundation to Focus

Our pocket maps helped establish our footprint.

But today, we’ve evolved.

We are focused on:

  • High-impact retail products
  • Custom and private-label opportunities
  • National park and destination-based designs
  • Scalable product lines that drive revenue

This shift allows us to better serve our partners—and align with where the outdoor retail market is headed.

Built by Anglers. Proven in the Field.

Where We’re Headed

Our goal is simple:

To become the leading outdoor product and private-label mapping partner for fly shops, national parks, and specialty retailers across North America.

We believe:

Physical products still matter.
Place-based storytelling still matters.
And retailers who lean into both will win.
